Mercury will be in retrograde for the first time in 2022 from January 14th - February 3rd. When a planet "goes retrograde," it appears to go backward in its orbit. Astrologers tell us that when this happens to the planet Mercury, we can expect confusion, delay, frustration, and extraordinary coincidences before it "goes direct" again. People will blame all sorts of mishaps on Mercury in retrograde, but because Mercury is a god of commerce, travel, and communication, these are the areas of greatest concern. Astrologers will advise against business deals, major purchases, and taking trips while Mercury is in retrograde, and tell us not to be surprised if we experience miscommunication, bugs with technology, lost emails or texts, car trouble, traffic jams, and similar aggravations. Unfortunately, this inauspicious time doesn't just happen once a year. Mercury will also go retrograde from May 10th to June 3rd and from September 9th to October 2nd.
